Greenhouse

Located at the easternmost foot of Lindbergh Boulevard (#300), the greenhouse entry drive lies between the last two houses. map

Members who are Teaneck residents may join the Greenhouse Committee, responsible for the operations at the Greenhouse from September through early June. Some monthly meetings take place in the Greenhouse at 10:00 AM on the first Saturday of each month.

Those actively participating in the greenhouse operations are,

eligible for space within the greenhouse and/or outdoors in the contiguous fenced-against-deer garden plots in exchange for 3 hours of work/week in the workgroup of their choice.

The Greenhouse Members grow and care for the annuals and perennials destined for the annual Spring Plant Sale. Besides raising plants for the sale, the club also raises flowering plants and cares for some Township of Teaneck properties.

Spring is is the time when volunteer members conduct garden workshops for the students of Hawthorne School who enjoy their greenhouse visits. Students learn to raise and make plants thrive; we hope we are raising future gardeners.
